Review of Remington R-9190 Microflex 800 Rechargeable/Corded Men's Rotary Shaver

I would skip buying this razor or any Remington Razor.It shaves very close, but the shaver will not hold a charge.When I was reviewing other Remington shavers on line there was a common complaint "it doesn't hold a charge".I never had a problem with Braun, but I wanted to try a rotory blade because everyone says they shave closer.

Well I tried another brand and now I will go back to Braun and hope the new ones shave a little closer. Now I am in a really bad situation, because I am in Afghanistan it can't really return it so I just lost $68.00.

What is the lesson, stay with what you know is good, and to me that is Braun.

Please skip this one, it will save you a lot of problems.

Review of Remington R-400 MicroFlex 400 Titanium Shaving System

I've had this razor for traveling for about 1.5 years. So far its very good even compared to my Norelco 9190XL which is a much expensive razor. The norelco sometimes pulls while the remington cuts really close and even long beard is notpulled. Nice surprise from Remigton as I was quite exceptic about the quality when I got it and now I am keeping it and thinking on replacing the Norelco!!

Review of Remington BHT-2000 High Precision Men's Body Hair Groomer

This review will compare the benefits and disadvantages of the Remington BHT-2000 and the Norelco Bodygroom for shaving the groin.I purchased the Bodygroom earlier this year and have a review of it on Amazon from around the first or second week of February.

To begin, I find the Remington to be more solidly built than the Bodygroom. Plus, the Remington's smaller design makes it easier to maneuver around the groin area than the Bodygroom for trimming that area.Advantage: Remington.

Secondly, I find the trimming capability of the Remington to be better than the Bodygroom.What I don't like about the Norelco is that is comes with flimsy detachable heads to use for trimming.I like how the Remington has a dial-type head (similar to what you see in most beard trimmers) in which you can choose from 5 setting for hair trimming.Advantage: Remington

Thirdly, I found the shaving capability of the Remington to be quite poor compared to the Norelco.For either unit, it is recommended to trim the hair to the lowest setting before attempting to shave using the foil head.If you don't trim the hair first to as short as possible, the shaving head on each unit will not be able to shave the hair properly.Getting back to the review...the Remington dual head shaver attachment is unsatisfactory.It does not shave as close as the Norelco foil head, nor is it as irritation free as the Norelco foil head.I used the foil head on the Remington as gently as possible on both my testicles and part of the shaft, and I felt a stinging razor burn on two separate occasions.Eee-yowch. This did not happen with the Norelco Bodygroom.Advantage: Norelco.

I would recommend that if you plan to simply trim your groin area, then your best bet is to go with the Remington as it is the better trimmer.If your desire is to shave your groin area as smooth as possible with an electric instrument, than your best bet is to go with the Norelco Bodygroom as it is the better shaver.Please understand, however,that even with the Norelco being used as a shaver, you will not experience a shave as close as you would by using a blade.

Based on my experience, I find trimming the groin area to be the way to go instead of shaving the area.In order to keep the groin region hair free, you would have to shave that area every day.I find I can get by with trimming that area to a very short length once a week to keep it rather well maintained.

Review of Remington R-950 Titanium Rotary MicroFlex Cord/Cordless Mens Shaver

I wasn't sure what to make of all these conflicting reviews but I needed a shaver and this shaver represented a pretty good value. I took a chance and I don't regret it.

Having switched from straight edge to electric in the past, I knew my skin needed to adjust to the new treatment. Right in the box from Remington is a red warning tag that says exactly that. The first few shaves were rough ... my skin felt and looked raw in a few patches. Not a good experience and frankly it's what I suspect most of the negative reviews here are based on. However, having made this transition in the past I was intent on completing the adjustment.

Well, it's been two weeks and shaves are fine. Better than fine, the shaves are very close leaving a wonderfully smooth face. The irritation is almost completely gone and really only appears when I'm too vigorous on parts of my neck with tender skin. I consider this more my fault than the shaver's.

Electric shaving isn't for everyone. Furthermore, there are shavers which will treat skin more tenderly but not produce as close a shave. Given the variety of faces and shavers there is no "one size fits all". However, if you like rotary electric shaving, you don't have overly sensitive skin, and you want a really smooth close result then you should consider this shaver.

Review of Remington MS2-290 Microscreen 300 Rechargeable Men's Shaver

I thought I was buying a duplicate of the shaver that was stolen from my motel room when I was on a business trip.The one I had to replace was very good, but this one is even better.

I have a very tough beard (I typically use the electric shaver before taking a shower, then a traditional hot lather-and-blade shave afterwards).This shaver gives me a close enough shave that I really don't need to use the blade to have a better-than-passable shave.In addition, the charge seems to last forever.

Review of Remington MS-5100 Titanium MicroScreens 700 Rechargeable Shaver

Received the razor and it gives an outstanding, comfortable and close shave, better than my prior Remington.

However, it is NOT "Cord/Cordless" as advertised.It will not run while connected to the cord (it will only charge), and the manual clearly says that ONLY the 5200 is cord and cordless.

As I am living overseas, the fact that it only will work with 110V is also a pain.I thought all manufacturers were now making their charging transformers to accept 110 or 220V.Oh, well, that's what adapters are for.

Despite bad reviews I have heard on the 5200, others I know have the 5200, and happy with it and it has none of the shortcomings of the 5100.
As long as you don't need 220V and can live with having to keep it charged (it has no charge remaining indicator, unlike the 5200) it's fine.However, if I had to do it over again, I would buy the 5200.

I've had this product for about a year (used it only when desperate).I purchased it at a local store for about the same price on Amazon.You should probably steer clear of this product, as it is difficult to get it to cut hair adequately with it's straight blade design.It often left hair a length that was still too long, but it couldn't cut due to it's design.It also smells kind of wierd, like a mix of mineral oil and raw steel.I'm going with a newer one today that landed in my gold box.Sorry Remington, it just didn't "Cut-It".

Review of Remington Titanium MicroScreen Shaver - MS5100

Closest shave I have ever had from an electric shaver. I owned a Braun before this one.

The Mini-Foil that pops up is great at cutting hard to shave areas, but is very noisy when used. Once Mini-Foil is put back down it is more quiet. Just rinse under running hot water when done to clean.

Remington's Rotary is too irritating for my skin as are other rotary shavers I have used. Foil shavers are the way to go.

Only Negative I found was noise from the Mini-Foil popup.

Remington R-200 is a very decent shaver.Unlike Norelco "lift and cut" systems, it does not claim to give you the "closest shave possible".It simply provides you with a clean and comfortable shave without stripping the skin off your face.Another advantage of this product is that it has 2 foil rings on each rotary head, effectively doubling their shaving area.Blades stay sharp for a very long time.

This is a corded (non-chargeable shaver), which means it works instantly at full power when plugged into the outlet.Chargeable shavers at this price range can only run at peak performance when their batteries are fully charged.When out of charge, these shavers quit working altogether, even if plugged into the outlet.

It should also be noted that this product does not come with a travel pouch.Remington R-225 is a shaver identical to this one, except that it comes with a pouch.Some outlets have been discounting R-225 lately to the point that it has become a better deal than R-200.

Verdict: excellent shaver at this price range.

Review of Remington R-1000 Powerclean Titanium Cord/Cordless Men's Shaving System

I bought this shaver, because it looked like a good shave, and I liked the idea of having a cleaning system with it.The cleaing system was its downfall for me though.The cleaing solution ate away at the finish on the top of the shaver.This was only about two months after I had the shaver.I sent it back to Remington, and they sent me a new one, that one only lasted about two months too, before the finish got all bad again.This time they didn't have any more of the R-1000, so they sent m a lesser one, but with two sets of replacement blades to make up the diffrence.The real downfall with this is they just relied on the shaver to air dry, unlike the Braun I had before which had a fan to get it dry.The solution just sat on the razor and ate away at the finish.The one thing I can say is that the customer service at Remington is excellent, but the shaver is not.
