Review of NORELCO T970 AccuVac Vacuum Trimmer

I had a Norelco T990, but was disappointed when the battery died after only two years. The battery is welded in and needs to be replaced by a professional (or someone who knows what they are doing). The last shaver shop around here disappeared a few months ago. So the T990 became land fill (I ripped out the old battery and recycled it). It is, unfortunately, a lot cheaper to buy a new shaver than to replace the battery! The new T970 is much inferior to the old one I had. The "AccuVac" system barely works. Instead of just letting hairs fall into the bathroom sink, the hairs are supposed to land in a little "drawer" that you pull out and empty. So now I have a new job, emptying the shaver, which is recommended that you do each time it is used. The hairs actually get stuck just above this little drawer, so you have to get them out with the little enclosed brush. If you want to use the narrow shaver blade, you have to manually exchange the blades. This was much easier in the other model, where the narrow blade simply extended and retracted. The trimmer gadget that separates you from your beard (that adjusts in height) is much harder to put back on than it used to be on the old model.
Find another shaver, and preferably another brand.
