Review of Norelco T7500 Deluxe Cord/Cordless Rechargeable Beard & Moustache Trimmer

I've had a beard for, let's see, 20 years now, and this is the best trimmer I have ever found.

PREVIOUS trimmers had a hard time getting my beard the right length, so I'd look kind of like I was molting. Not a very good look.

Or they'd end up pulling out more hair than they trimmed. Also, not good (unless you enjoy that kind of thing).

Just before buying this one I bought one from the Sharper Image. What a badly designed thing that was. You had to snap on several different guards--none of them ever the right length. I took that one right back and traded it for a fan.

THIS TRIMMER is great. The design fits comfortably in the hand. The built-in guard (nothing to snap on or lose) is adjustment to many different settings, from a Miami Vice-like stubble, to what I call "the mohair" look (chicks dig it--at least my chick does), to a longer, but still neatly-trimmed length. At the very longest length, you can even use it to trim the hair on top of your head (if you have any left).

This trimmer is fast, and the results are excellent. The little pop-up moustache trimmer is great for trimming in small spaces.

The built-in, rechargeable battery only takes a few hours to charge, then lasts a long time. You can also use it plugged in for those times when you've forgotten to recharge, and it works with 120 or 220v. The whole thing comes with a convenient nylon case that holds the trimmer and the cord and makes it easy to keep everything in one place.

I have not yet used this to trim any animal other than myself, but I'm sure it would work there, too.

Overall, it's just a pleasure to finally have a device which can take me from looking like I just came off of Survivor island to looking civilized. I've recommended it to other bearded friends, all of whom have said it was great--the best they've ever used.

I HIGHLY recommend it.

Review of Philips Norelco 7800XLCC Jet Clean System Men's Shaver

This shaver is pretty awesome for the price. The seems to work well just make sure you rinse the razor after cleaning to get the little stubble out.The heads it comes with are so so.My brother has a higher model with SpeedXL heads. After close examination I figured that the advanced heads would fit this razor and they did.Make sure you pick up some SpeedXL heads when you buy this one for maximum performance. They work fine even though Philips/Norelco doesn't approve it (probably to make people spring for a more expensive model).

Review of Norelco HQ55PLUS (HQ55) Replacement Heads For Shaver Model 6618X

Thought I was ordering HQ55 "PLUS" (as the ad lead me to believe) at a great price. Was disappointed when I received the HQ55 (NO "PLUS") instead. The great price paid was no better than I could get anywhere for the HQ55 "replacement".Wasn't worth the hassle to return it.

Review of Philips Norelco HP2843 Satinelle Epilator

I bought an epilator because I was tired of shaving my legs and waxing was just too expensive for me.I've had my epilator for several weeks now and I am already seeing amazing results!

I used it for the first time on my legs.I'm not going to lie...It was painful.I just made sure to go slowly, pausing every few inches, and making sure my skin was pulled as tightly as I could get it.Eventually, I was able to get most of the thick, dark hairs off of my legs.

**Please know that the Epilator is not an immediate "cure-all".Hair grows in stages, so as soon as you get rid of some hairs, several more grow in behind them.(Eventually you can probably get rid of most to all of them, but it will take some time.)Because of this, it is good to try epilating a couple of times a week.Since it's winter, I just let it all grow out so that the Epilator can get more hairs. However, when new hair grows in, I am finding that they are thinner and blonde instead of dark brown. It doesn't hurt nearly as much to pull those out!I also know that I'll be able to do this in the spring and summer because the hair is lighter. My legs are smoother and I don't get razor burn!Right after epilating, sometimes I do experience a little irritation but, unlike razor burn, it goes away after just a short time.

Another neat thing is that, unlike waxing, the Epilator can grab the teeny tiny almost invisible hairs. This gives your skin a smoother feel and it gets hairs at the beginning stages of growth!I used to have to wait two weeks or so for my hair to grow long enough to be waxed. Now, I get smoother skin just about whenever I want to!

I was a little nervous at first about spending money on a product I had not heard much about. With the exception of the few reviews I read online, I was pretty much in the dark.I went ahead and went for it, then realized that this thing paid for itself in about two weeks! Not only have I epilated my legs, I have also used it under my arms, on my upper lip, and on my bikini line. The results have been better than I could have imagined!!

Again, I'm not going to lie...OUCH!!!!!Epilating under my arms hurt initially and they were sore for a few days (I have very thick hairs). However, I got the majority of the hairs and after the first time, I realized that I'm never going to have to shave again!Yes, some little blonde hairs grow back, but they are ALL thinner and much less painful. In fact, sometimes it tickles a little.:o)I epilate there once to twice a week (about a five minute job if you're being careful, two if you're in a hurry) and I have smoother underarms!

I used to get my upper lip waxed about once a month. Now I just epilate. It hurts, but just for a second.Plus, I keep up with it so instead of 50 hairs being pulled at once with hot wax, I only need to pull 5-10 each time.

**A word of caution: Our skin is more sensitive in some areas, so if you choose to epilate around the bikini line, be careful.I managed to give myself a burn from going too slowly with the rotating "blade".Now I just make sure that I don't leave it in one place for more than a couple of seconds. If I miss some hairs, I come back another time to get them.

This epilator comes with a little loufa pad to help reduce ingrown hairs (I've only had a few and the pad fixes them) and a little cleaning brush. The epilator is very easy to clean. The top (dark purple section) pops off and you run it under hot water. When it dries, you put it back on.**Note, the epilator does not store hairs inside of it.When they are pulled out, they tend to either gather on the front of the epilator (I stop periodically to wipe them off) or they go flying.I sit on a towel when epilating to catch most of the hairs.

I hope this review was helpful to you with your decision about buying an epilator.I am very satisfied with this product and I recommend it to anyone who has at least a little pain tolerance and really wants to get rid of hair stop having to shave all the time.

**Are the few minutes of pain worth it???ABSOLUTELY!:o)

Review of Norelco 6885XL Deluxe Quadra Action Cord/Cordless Rechargeable Men's Shaver

First, a little background.I've switched between Norelco electric razors and blades over the years, never quite satisfied with the shave I was getting.Norelco has always said "shaves as close as a blade or your money back".I've never found this to be true, but the razors were good enough that I didn't return them. Most recently I used the Gilette Mach 3 razor which does a very good job.

Now here's why I give the 6885XL (6886XL is apparently the same model, sold at Costco and other warehouse stores) 5 stars:

- Closest shave yet. This is the first electric razor I've used that shaves as close as a blade (including the Mach 3).In fact, it shaves closer than a blade under my jaw and around my adam's apple.I can't shave against the grain with a blade in those areas or my skin breaks out (and that's the only way to get the closest shave.)With the 6885XL I don't have this problem and I get a really close shave.

- It's quiet.Previous electric razors were so noisy I had to shave in another bathroom so I wouldn't wake my wife. Not so with this one.

- Easy to clean.Open the top and run hot water through it.No more brushes (except for periodic maintenance). An indicator will tell you when it's time to clean.

Other features:

- Charge remaining (in minutes) display. This isn't particularly useful to me, but it seems reasonable accurate.

- It comes with a stand that holds the razor upright on the counter or basin.Much neater than the razor just laying around or stuffed in a cabinet.

- Hard carrying case, for travel.

- Automatically adjusts to different voltages.

My wife about had a heart attack when I bought it.However, it gives me the best shave ever (electric or blades).

Review of Mens Electric Razor

This razor is perefect, because it shaves well and is good for sensitive skin since it can be used with shaving lotions.
Even if you run out of the lotion packets that go in the razor, you can still use other lotions as you would with a manual razor.
Since it is wet/dry you can save time by shaving in the shower too. I have tried several razors and this one is the best for sensitive skin, I shave my head with it too and it hardly even irritates my skin then either. Of course, your skin may be different than mine. I bought one four years ago and it still works fine, so the quality is certainly solid.
I can't say how it compares to other models however. I can't imagine anything that could be much better.

Review of Philips Norelco 6843XL Reflex Plus Rechargeable Cord/Cordless Men's Shaving System

Unlike others, my motivation for going with electric shaving was based on medicine. That is, I am so many different blood thinners that, no matter what shaving system I use, I managed to get at least a small cut or two and these would bleed and bleed, etc.So, it occurred to me to try an electric razor.I read the generally excellent reviews posted at this site--thanks to all of you guys for your input!I decided on this middle of the line Norelco. It's a couple of models from the bottom; the bottom one is cord only, the next one is cordless only, and then comes this model.I spent some time at the store looking over the different blade systems; even Norelco alone has several going.I knew I didn't want that squishy mess like the most expensive, and I was reluctant to sink a small fortune into something I might not like. What decided most of all for me to get this 'Reflex Plus' system was that it has a whisker collection chamber so they don't go all over the place.I think the model(s) above this have lithium ion batteries, whereas this model still has NiCads--which I hate.If I traveled more than I do, I'd spring for the model above for about $10 more.NiCads are slow to charge and are generally crummy; I've been using them in photo equipment for 30 years. This particular razor can be used just as easily plugged into the wall, which I like.I also like the fact that it doesn't require a separate charging stand, you just plug the cord into the bottom.

How did it shave?Great for me.I'm blond with a fairly soft beard and it plowed through about 3 days' worth of beard, making a chopping sound the whole time.I felt an occasional 'pull' but then this was fairly long beard.Once the long hair was gone I found it quite smooth to shave with.I bought some 'Lectric Shave' at the store at the same time I bought the razor but I didn't use it.Having fairly light-colored hair on my face, I never have the Fred Flintstone look regardless.I found, though, that the razor certainly got my beard acceptably close.I can still feel hair on my face, but not to an unacceptable degree.I have usually used a German Mercury double-edge razor with Wilkinson Sword blades and this doesn't shave that close. It might do better or different with another's beard. As for me, I'm delighted, and it didn't cut me at all.I'm in my forties, so don't have any deep wrinkles, etc., to cut through. That might be different.

Unlike some of the other razors I looked at, this model is light to hold and not bulky. Some of the other, more expensive models seemed both huge and heavy.I wasn't willing to mess with that.Having only used this a couple of weeks, I can't speak to the long-term durability.Seems appropriate to the price, though.I don't think it'll cost me particularly more than blades and shave gel in the long run.It is very quiet.I am looking forward to many more pleasant shaves!

Review of Norelco Mens Electric Razor - 7845XL

Just like most of you, I have gone through my share of shavers and have even resorted to the "blade & cream" phase every now and then.Well, I'm here to tell you with all my confidence that your search is over. The Norelco 7845 (or probably any other Norelco Quadra Action shaver) is superb.

Pros:This shaver provides specifically what you are looking for... a hassle-free, quick, close shave.I get a nice, consistent close shave on my entire face.I've gone through other shavers (as you've already read) and this is by far the best.I'll be selling my (ever popular) Braun 7526 because it misses two areas on my neck (leaving an oddball patch of hair).I've had other floating-head (or rotary blade... I don't know the official term) that have conked-out on me or have been torturous to use... sometimes feeling like it was yanking hair off my face.I've used this shaver after skipping a few days and it works like a charm.Charges quickly.Holds a good/strong charge... I took this shaver to Mexico City for 10 days with excellent results.Replacement blades are easy to find... I'm not sure what another reviewer was complaining about but the replacement blades are everywhere (online and at all the department stores). And the price is right... especially when you compare it to all the shavers in its class.

Cons:Okay... the beard trimmer is a bit basic.I will not go so far as to say it is clumsy or cheap.I have a goatee (sp?) and it works fine for me.I 'do' have a separate beard trimmer I use for that once a month I trim-down my beard.

You will be pleased with this purchase.I wouldn't waste my time writing a review if I did not stand behind this product.Thank you.

Review of Norelco 6735X ADVANTAGE Shaving Lotion Dispensing Rechargeable Shaver

Previously I owned what was probably Norelcos base model (think it sold for $30-50). It did an ok job, but tore up my face a bit if there was much growth at all. Thus, I usually ended up having to do some sort of a combination of blade and electric to keep a decent shave. After buying the 6735 I am now down to using only an electric.Being able to shave in the shower makes a huge difference in that I find I get a much closer shave and I don't end up with hair all over the bathroom... not to mention always having a nice clean razor.Would highly recommend this razor to anyone.

Review of Remington R-845 Men's MicroFlex Rotary Rechargeable Shaver

I bought this shaver a little less than a year ago and I was impressed by the closeness of the shave it gave but I was a little surprised that it only ran off the battery. I expected to get a couple of years of use out of it but it is already starting to slow down. Pretty soon I will have to charge it every night just to get a slow shave. Not a bad shaver but spend a little more for a better battery or one that runs off battery or cord.

Review of Philips Norelco G290 6-in-1 Grooming Kit

I really like this shaver and I use it a lot. I write a lot of reviews on Amazon that are for fun only and not serious, but believe me, I am being serious here.

This shaver has lots of good features, and it definitely does pay for itself. I'm a guy who just likes having a crew cut, and this shaver is perfect for that. Why go to the store and pay $15 to have some stranger cut your hair (and have to waste your time waiting until they can get to you) when you can just buy this baby and do it yourself? Or better yet, have your significant other help you out and do it for you. It has already paid for itself several times over. (I like Setting 2, myself.)

Also very useful is the nose hair trimmer. This is not something that guys like to talk about very often but it happens to the best of us and there's no shame in trimming that unsightly growth out. This one is very useful. You just clip it in, turn it on, and jam that sucker up your nostril. Again, VERY useful.

The rest of the attachments were okay but not necessary, in my opinion.

So why 4 stars? Because of an accident that I had once with this thing, a manufacturer problem. I had started shaving my head and the power went out. Apparently it wasn't fully charged. So I was left with stripes of bald patches running down my hair, and it looked extremely bad.

I recharged it overnight, but had to go to work the next morning and didn't have time to finish the job before I left. So I had to go to work with my hair looking all nappy like I had been suffering from radiation fallout sickness or something. I had to hole up in my office all day, so I would not be seen.

This disaster could have been easily averted had the power supply on this thing been set up so that you can use the device while it is plugged in. Only it doesn't work that way. It is not set up to operate off of a power supply. It is only set up to operate off of its charge. So when it is plugged in, it is only charging the battery. If the battery is dead, then it won't turn on and you can't use it even when it is plugged in!

Whoever heard of such a crazy arrangement? This is totally unlike the other Norelco shaver (the 3-disc beard shaver). It makes me want to give it 1 star, but that would be unfair.

So basically here is my advice: Make sure that this thing is well-charged before you put it to your head. Otherwise, you may be sorry! Take it from somebody who has been there.

Review of Philips Norelco 7865XL Quadra Action Rechargeable Cord/Cordless Shaving System

This Norelco (actually made by Philips) one was bought to replace an older shaver (I've used Norelco, Philips and Panasonics over the years.) This one is more efficient (faster, better shave) than my older one, and an amazingly amount quieter. What do you know- this time, "new and improved" really is accurate!

What I like: the shaver fits the hand well, the pivoting blade heads fit the face and as a result shave quite well. The battery strength indicator, consisting of bright LEDs showing the percentage of charge remaining in 20% increments, is very useful, and the flip-up hinged shaver head section is easy to clean with warm water (I still have to consciously force myself to do this!) They have also "shrunk" the half-egg shaped power transformer, and you can use 100 - 220 volts to plug / charge, a good thing for someone who travels globally as I do.

What I don't like: the pop-up trimmer is only fair - it works, but it's actually not as effective as the one on my old shaver! The deep well holding the head rotors shafts is not so easy to clean with a brush, particularly with the hinged head; they are still using a non-user replaceable NiCd battery; the gimmicky cutter head plate section with holes seems merely that - gimmicky, not useful for any real shaving.

Tips: After cleaning the head / blade assemblies, allow them to dry fully and spray-lubricate with something like "Shaver Saver." When power seems low, turn the shaver on and allow to discharge fully before reccharging - these are, after all, still NiCd batteries with the "memory" effect. These tips have allowed my previous electrics' battery - and cutter head assemblies - to last a long time (I have a heavy beard - even with a blade shaver, I have to shave again in the afternoon if I have a dinner appointment.)

Recommendation: This is a very good, easy to use, quick and quiet electric shaver - the best I have ever used. It packs easily for travel, and though it is a bit finnicky to clean, I like it because it does the job I need it to do. Given the several deficits, I'd never give it four stars if not for how it handles its ultimate function - shaving my beard.

Review of Norelco 6756X Deluxe Advantage Wet/Dry Cordless Men's Razor

The Norelco Advantage Shaver is the best electric shaver I used to date. I myself have sensitive skin so I tend break out around my neck from standard shavers and electric shavers. The "Advantage" to this shaver is that is has a built in Gel or Lotion to help smooth out your shave, along with great cutting "Lift and Cut" blades. Also you can use it with water too. With the Lotion it acts as a nice smooth shaving surface keeping your skin protected. The Lotion acts as a moisturizer making you skin feel soft and shaver burn free. Cleaning is simple with just a flip of the shaver lid. You can then rinse it out with warm water and then your done. Charging is done with a neet stand and the shaver lasts up to 45 minutes. The unit includes a snap on side burn trimmer. The shaver itself feels like a solid piece with excellent construction and not that "Cheap Plastic" feel to it. Extra items in the kit are 10 free packs of Shaving gel and lotion, a carry case, a brush, and a good instruction manual. I recommend reading the warrenty information too. It is good for 2 years for most of your service problems. So for those of you not sure of getting an electric, your money will be well spent on this shaver, especially people with sensitive skin. They do make lower models too (under a ($$$)) whichare also the same unit with less features but they other the same benifits of a close, soft and comfortable shave.

Product Description
Norelco 6756X .. The Norelco Advantage is the only electric shaver that dispenses Nivea for Men shaving lotion or gel for a close, refreshing shave with less irritation. Contour Control automatically adjusts to every curve on your face. Lift and Cut Technology lifts hair to cut below skin level fro a comfortable, close shave. Water Resistant for use in or out of the shower. Includes 10 Nivea for Men alcohol-free cartridges and a handy steam-free shower mirror. Advantage provides the best of both worlds, the convenience of an electric shaver and the wet shave experience of a blade.

Review of Norelco 7885XL Quadra Action Two-Stage Cutting Shaving System

I've been using this razor for the last 7 years.I've used it just about every day since I received it and have been nothing but pleased with this razor.

Without looking, I believe it charges up to just under 40 minutes, and the LCD display lets you know how many minutes are left before your next charge.Considering how old my razor is, I'm impressed that the rechargeable battery seems to hold a charge just as well as when the razor was new.

The easy-to-read display also alerts you when it's time for a cleaning. Simply flip open the top, tap out the clippings and rinse it under the tap with water.

My razor also came with a plastic stand which cradles the razor nicely on the bathroom counter when not in use.It also came with a clamshell-type plastic case that holds a cleaning brush and the recharge cord. The case is nice for throwing in the suitcase on trips.

The heads on this razor are nicer than cheaper models I've seen. They pivot and go in-and-out and give a very nice shave for an electric razor. Be warned that you need to change the blades on the electric razor.I change my blades about once every other year, and I've found that replacements typically run about $28.

This razor also has a good weight to it and is easy to hold with either your right or left hand.My only complaint is that you can tell the blades are slower when less than 4 minutes of battery life remains.

Product Description
The three floating heads on this cord/cordless shaver adjust in multiple directions to fit facial contours while Norelco's Lift & Cut below-skin shaving technology employs a two-stage cutting system (slots for longer hairs and holes for stubble) to produce a close, smooth shave. A full-width trimmer pops up for neat work on sideburns and mustaches. Perfect for the traveling man because it works worldwide on 100-volt to 240-volt systems, the razor recharges fully in one hour for 45 minutes of cordless shaving time or quick-charges in six minutes for a three-minute shave. An LCD meter tells how many minutes of shaving time remain when the shaver is operating cordless, displays the charging level, signals when the shaver needs recharging, and indicates when cleaning is needed. (Rinsing under running water is all that's needed.) The shaver fits the hand comfortably and comes in a soft, molded-plastic travel case. It carries a 60-day, full-satisfaction, money-back guarantee and a two-year warranty against defects. Power Source: AC 100-240V (automatic voltage conversion) Charge Time: 1 hour Operating Time: Approx 45 minutes Quick Charge: Yes

Most searches reveal the BG2020 part which costs 17.99 + 5.77 shipping since it comes from a company that doesn't do Amazon's Free Super Saver Shipping.
I have the BG2020 model shaver, so I thought I needed THIS part. But they shipped me the BG2000 part which states right on the package that it works for the BG2020 model shaver...I tried it...works perfectly as promised.

So to help you avoid my mistake, search for:

I have had this Norelco for just over three years and this is the third Norelco electric shaver I have owned since 1988. My first one, a low-end model, lasted about six years before the battery died. My second one, a mid-line model, lasted nearly 10 years. This 8894XL was the top-of-the-line model at the time I bought it in 2004. My observations are:

1) The digital display shows how many minutes you have left before you need charging. Once charged, it will last over 100 minutes. For me, that's about every three months.
2) The display tells you when it needs to be washed, blades replaced, minutes left, etc.
3) The light just came on for me to replace the blades, which is the first time in the 3+ years that I have had it. I don't particularly like this feature since I don't feel like I need to replace the blades, but I can't get rid of the signal.
4) About a year after I bought this razor, I accidently tilted it over in my sink. The battery died as a result and I had to recharge the unit. I thought this was odd, but it has not happened since.
5) Electric razors are much better than having to deal with the old blades and much more cost-effective in the long run since you don't have to buy new blades every couple of weeks.
6) You can wash this unit by simply running it under hot water, unlike the old ones when you had to remove the heads and brush out the stubble, etc.
7) I have used only Norelco electric razors for the past 19 years and will never switch to anything else.

Review of Norelco 5615X Advantage Wet/Dry Cordless Rechargeable Men's Shaver

This Norelco shaver replaces a two year old Remington wet/dry rotary shaver that was remarkable for its cheap construction. I had grown used to the comfort of a wet shave but had sworn off Norelco shavers due to their relatively high cost until I found this one. At $64.99, this Norelco has to be the best deal going. It dispenses self-contained Nivea lotion that results in a smooth, close and burn-free shave. Cleaning is a snap..just rinse under hot running water. There is a "deluxe" model available (#5655X) but I doubt the additional $80 is going to result in a better shave. This is a great combination...traditional Norelco quality, the comfort of a wet shave and a super price. It includes an electronic on/off switch, charge indicator light, counter top charging stand, travel case and a supply of Nivea shaving lotion cartridges. Unbeatable combination!

Review of Norelco T860 AcuControl Beard and Moustache Trimmer

The 860T is all that Norelco says it is.I was worried that the "Acu-Control system" would be fragile and gimmicky, but Norelco has proven me wrong! This trimmer delivers a precise, consistent shave every time.It is easy to use and the controls have a solid feel to them giving you complete control over your beard and moustache.I also like that Norelco gives you the option of corded or cordless shaving with the 860T.This is as good as it gets.

Review of Philips Norelco 7610X Quadra7 Men's Shaving System

Review of Philips Norelco D350 DFiner Precise Facial Hair Shaper

The only problem I have with this is with the charging. You do not really know when it is completely out of juice, so it's hard to know when to charge the unit up.

This thing is very precise, there won't be any stubble afterwards near your facial hair. My hair is very dark, so any stubble i get is very obvious, but it's completely gone with this.

If you have a goatee, get this, it's very useful. It will make it look very professional looking.

Review of Philips Norelco 8825XL Spectra Rechargeable Cord/Cordless Men's Shaving System

I just got my first Norelco model 8825 XL, after 7 years using a Braun 4501.I considered these two brands the top in the electrical shaving industry. In some aspects I founded the Norelco reigning over the Braun and in other aspects the Braun is much better. So, the question you should ask yourself is what type of hair are you trying to shave?

Let first look at the Norelco series:
The different between the Norelco's Spectra (8000 series), Quadra (7000 series), Advantage (6000 series), and the Reflex (5000 series) is one major feature added to each series. The Reflex sports the basic "Lift & Cut" system. The Advantage is the same but include a lotion dispenser. The Quadra's "Lift and Cut" system has two types of head with a slot and hole. The Spectra series has what the Quadra does, but include a comfort control. Both the Quadra and Spectra don't have lotion dispenser. There are also more special features that can be found in each series by looking at the 2nd digit. For example the Spectra 8894 have a digital screen where the bare-bone lower number Spectra 8825 have just a green light.

The performances, Norelco vs. Braun:
I have soft hair in the beard area and thicker hair around the lips (mustache and chin area). The Norelco does a superior job in the beard area; it cut it clean with a couple of strokes. When using the Braun (older model 4501), I sometime have to use a long trimmer and then go back over with the coil. The Norelco three individual heads move over the sides of the face a lot better.Braun does do a superior job over the mustache area.It coils has more and bigger holes then Norelco. The Spectra with it dual slot and hole head is good but takes longer time to cut down the thicker stub. The old Braun battery (NH-) is dying on me.Norelco battery (NiCd) is replaceable and you use it charged or just plug and play, which the Braun could not do.Overall, I prefer the Norelco's design.

The features I like:
I am still playing with the Personal Comfort Control and am not sure if it is necessary. The more sensitive the level is the long it takes to cut so far. The long hair trimmer is great, but that is almost standard in most models, but not the Advantage's Series.Plug and play is great, since I don't travel every day.Cleaning is simple; just rinse it in the sink.I like the solid construction the Norelco's design is, the rotating machine is fun to use and is very smooth.

Review of Remington WR5000 Smooth & Silky SpinFlex Women's Rotary Shaver

I have VERY sensitive skin and blade shaving is near impossible. So I'm always on the lookout for a gentle electric. This one is comfortable to use and very quiet but unfortunately only shaves about as close as 1-day-old stubble (after a blade). My WDF-3000 does better than that but I wanted to try something new since it can be irritating to my skin, also it's so loud the whole house knows you're shaving. So I wouldn't recommend this one especially if you're used to using a blade.

Review of Norelco 7886XL Quadra Action Dry Razor Shaver Corded Cordless, 7886 XL Brand new

This is an excellent razor. I like the fact you can simply rinse it clean. I wish you could use it in the shower.

The one hurdle you face with this and any similar quadra or "flex" type razor is that you must put the replacement heads and blades in correctly. If you don't, you will get a patchy shave. The heads must be placed into the razor with a small "circle" facing toward the center of the razor. If you do that, the razor provides excllent shaves.

Review of Norelco 7180XL Corded & Cordless Men's Shaver

This is a nice shaver except for the very anemic motor.

The heads are the same ones used in a number of the higher priced Norelco/Philips shavers and they are very efficient.

But if you have a heavy beard and/or only shave every couple of days then you will definitely be happier with a more powerful shaver.

Mine holds a charge pretty well but that is not too advantageous when it takes as long to shave as it does with the 7180.

Review of Philips Norelco HP6328 Women's Ladyshave Rechargeable Cordless Shaver

Of the many electric shavers I've purchased over the years, this one is among the best.I bought it from Amazon in June 2003.I have sensitive skin and have never used anything but electric razors. The shaver cuts noticeably different on the "underarm" and "legs" settings and does excellently in both; amazingly, it cuts completely on the first or second pass.As to the "bikini" setting, well, I'm 56 and don't use/need that one. This shaver also holds a charge for longer than any one I've ever had; I've used it at least three or four times between charging. At the price, including no tax and shipping, this product really delivers.May 7, 2006 update:I paid $37 for this shaver three years ago.It has worked dependably for all this time. Now the price is $25.This is a real deal considering the quality.

Review of Remington Titanium Body Groomer - BHT2000

I like this thing. It's got good battery life, feels good in your hand and pretty quiet. I've never used it wet but it does a good job as a dry clipper, the hair length setting is very easy to use & I like the lengths you can choose from.I clip pretty short, about 1/4 inch (setting 3, of 5) from my collar bone to just above my stuff.I want my "junk" slick, with a sharp line at the border of slick and clipped, so I use a wet razor on the "parts."Because of that, I've only tried the shaver attachment a couple of times.I don't think it defines the shaved edge as clearly as i want. If you're leavin' your bush a little longer, the sharp edge wouldn't matter, I suppose. For the nutz, it depends on what you want--if you want them less than slick, use the comb/guide at "1" and only you and someone *very* close will know they ain't slick. But I'd definitly NOT use any kind of unguarded clipper on the boys for fear of getting them bitten, and clipper bites *do* hurt.I like mine slick, so I use a wet razor on them. (I rarely draw blood & it's surprisingly painless when I do. VERY surprising) So, I'd recomment the BHT2000 as a clipper, but I really haven't used the shaver enough to have an opinion on it.

Review of Remington MB-250 MB250 Titanium Mustache & Beard Trimmer

This is an awesome trimmer, I bought it to replace my Wahl Groomsmen. The Wahl is an alright trimmer but it lacks in the trimming lengths department. The Remington has a total of nine trimming lengths. The guard doesn't have to come off to change the lengths, which is a plus. And I can finally get that designer stubble look the ladies love. Also, there are no cords, the plug is in the back of the trimmer just like plugging in a night light. The price is also great for such a high quality product. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a great trimmer or for anyone looking to give this as a gift.

Review of Remington Clean X Change Disposable Foil Shaver

I saw the "Clean X Change" at a local big box retailer. What caught my eye was the claim that it shaves "with less irritation."Nanosilver head might be just the thing.I figured if its real bad, I can send it back to Remington with the money back guarantee.Price not too bad...

You are supposed to charge this shaver for 24 hours before first use. When you turn it on, its louder than a good Norelco, but not too loud. Its really basic, one button on & off, a couple of lights on the side. Not real big or clumsy and easy to grip.Solidly put together.

I found that it does give a really GOOD shave. Why?If you have a problem with neck hairs that grow in all directions, that lay flat and are thin and soft, this shaver can get them.I found that your typical electric shaver will give a decent shave on certain parts of my face, but never all.Sometimes, I will use two brands of shavers to get it right. But I was surprised to find that the Remington Clean X Change can produce a fast, close and comfortable shave all by itself...!! Amazing..!!

And yes, VERY LITTLE irritation..!!And I use it without a preshave lotion or powder. The trimmer folds out at a ninety degree angle and is easy to use.

I don't know what the suits were thinking at Remington, but I hope they don't change it.(You know they will...)

Buy at Wal-Mart or Target for about $44 USD.

Product Description
Remington's CleanXChange is the industries first shaver with a cutting system (foils, cutters, cartridge-and hair) that is disposable after 30 shaves! The anti-microbial coating onthe foil inhibits the growth of irritation-causing bacteria. There is no messy cleanup and a like new performance with every cartridge change. The pop-up trimmer is great for detailing facial hair. This shaver also features both cord and cordless operation with a 60 minute run time, a low battery, charging and a replace cartridge indicator. It comes with a deluxe travel pouch, two-year warranty and a money-back performance guarantee.

Review of Remington SF3 MicroScreen 1 electric razor

This is my 2nd Remington SF3 electric razor. My 1st one last for about 4 years (I used it for about 3 days a week) before its screen broke, then the blade needed changing... Review of Norelco Deluxe Reflex Plus Shaver w/LED - 6863XL

Though this is one of the models in the "lower" groups of Norelco's offerings, it has more than enough bells and whistles.I really can't see why anyone would need more.My first shave with this razor ended with the best shave I have ever had in my life.Just read on and follow all the suggested steps.

Norelco instructs us that all razors of this model should be fully charged for 4 hours before the first shave. I believe that all of Norelco's razors are given if not a full charge, a partial charge. The manual also explains about the LED lights that indicate the percentage of charged power available to the razor. When I plugged my razor in for charging, before using, it said 40% available and the 60% indicator was blinking (meaning not quite 60% full).Give the razor a full 4 hour charge, even if the LEDs say 100% in about 1 hour or so.Go the full 4 miles the first time around (remember, this razor has a quick charge function, so it may appear to be fully charged, it isn't, it's just your quick charge at work).I washed my face with plenty of soap and soaked my whiskers with a lot of water. Then I dried my face completely. Then, contrary to what Norelco says, I used a liquid preshave conditioner. Not a gel, not a powder (which should never be done with these razors), simply a liquid. Then I shaved - - - and it was the best shaving experience I have ever had.

The LED lights tell me everything I need to know - - 20%, 40%, on up to 100% power available. It starts blinking red at 20% power left. You can still shave; it's just letting you know that you need to charge it up.It does have the sideburn trimmer, which I have used and it performed wonderfully for me.

If this is the "lower" line, I don't know what you can do with the higher lines.I do not see any need for something beyond this razor. It has its cleaning brush for the razor heads, it has its charging cord, it has its neat little traveling pouch that holds the razor and all its accessories. What more do you need?

It feels comfortable and well balanced in my hand, it is very quiet, and it is a pleasant razor to look at.For the price, you cannot possibly go wrong.

Review of Remington MS3-2700 Microscreen3 Titanium Ultra Shaver (factory refurbished)

I was replacing an old Remington DA-407, which I have used for about 15 years, but which is no longer made. I liked the Remington dual blade/dual screen implementation, but found that most of the newer models now have 3 blades and 3 screens. OK, time for me to move up to the triple class. I didn't want to spend a lot, and some of the newest models were selling for $80 or more. I'd spend that if I had to, but wanted to spend closer to $50. I required a model that would work with a discharged battery, using the cord or with a charged battery, without the cord. I found the MSC-2700, which appeared to have all the bells and whistles, but was maybe one generation older than the newest. It has metal sides and not what appears to be a rubber coating on the newest models.

Now that I have shaved with it for about a month, I can report that I am happy. My unit is not noisy, as some reviews had mentioned. The also mentioned issue of capturing cut whiskers among the foils and allowing them to fall out when the shaver is tipped I find to be not a problem, but an advantage. A lot less whisker and dust get trapped inside and has to be brushed out. I get about 7-8 shaves between recharges. The shaver allows you to clean it by running the cutters under a faucet, but I find that drying the unit afterward is difficult. The brush does the job just fine.

All in all, I'm very happy. Thinking about buying a second one and putting it away for later use.

Review of Remington 2x Microscreen Rechargeable Shaver DA307 DA-307

I have had this shaver now for about 3 years, and it has been good. Thiry dollars to start, and the battery is holding up well.It does a fair job at shaving.I am replacing the foil after 3 years, not a bad life as well.Honestly I have got what I have wanted out of it. Review of Wahl 5537-1801 Cordless Battery Operated Beard Trimmer with Bonus Ear, Nose and Brow Trimmer

As far as the quality of the trimmer, you get what you pay for. I had a wahl trimmer for about 10 years that was plastic, but it was great. This one is cheap plastic that feels like its going to fall apart. The main drawback is that is sucks that battery life up fast. The first batteries i put in were cheap, so i upgraded to quality batteries with little difference.I use it every other day and i say batteries will last maybe a month if you dont mind the pulling when the batteries get worn down.

Review of Remington NE-3 Precision Wet/Dry Rotary Nose and Ear Trimmer

I have owned 13 trimmers and this is by far the best trimmer on the market.Usually when I trim my nose or ears, the hair grows back after several days, but the NE-3 will last two weeks!Ergonomically speaking, it is especially well designed and light weight. My wrist has never never gotten tired during one of my trimming marathons. Review of Norelco Spectra Deluxe Shaver 8894XL

I've been delaying writing this review of the Spectra 8894xl as I really wanted to use it for a month or more before I commented on it.I'm happy to report that I'm loving it!The only real weakness is the long hair trimmer as it's marginal at best.

I'm completely convinced that the Norelco rotary floating head system is far superior then the linear blade foil systems found on other razors like the Panasonic and Braun.I've owned them all. This is not to say they don't work well, but in my experience they are more biting and do a less then adequate job in the neck area. You can also get a circular rhythm with the rotary that you can't get with the linear. Some people complain there is less control with the Norelco, especially around the side burns. This is true, but I've found that once you get used to navigating the Norelco it becomes second nature.

One thing that threw me off before the purchase was a complaint I read about this razor having slots and holes on the foils heads.More specifically, the complaint was that it took a longer time to shave with the Spectra then it does with the Reflex action and Advantage.I can't comment on the Reflex action but I can comment on the Advantage as I own one. There is some truth to this! The difference is the Advantage has many more slots and more blades as compared to the Spectra. The Spectra has 9 blades per head for a total of 27 for the three heads. The claim is that this gives it a more open structure and allows for a sharper blade angle that lifts whiskers sooner and higher for a closer shave. The Advantage on the other hand has 15 blades per head for a total of45 blades. That equates to more coverage - 60% to be exact. This combined with the fact the Advantage foil has all slots explains why you can plow through more whiskers in less time. However, this notwithstanding, the spectra may take a little longer to shave but the configuration gives a much closer shave. The stubble slots also do tend to take care of the shorter whiskers by catching them and allowing the blades to cut them.

Now a word on battery life and the LED; the battery life of 100 minutes is amazing, I've only had to charge the razor twice since I owned it.I'm a proponent of conditioning the battery by using the charge up until you really need to charge it.The LED is very cool as there is no more guessing about charge left and time used.

The nine settings on the Personal Comfort level setting is a nice touch, but I've been using the razor on the normal setting with great results. At first I did set it back a few notches which led to less irritation at first, but now that my face is used to it the N setting works well without irritation.

One other thing I've found that really improves the shave. Williams Lectric Shave Utlra Pre-Shave "GEL".This is non-greasy and much better then their oil based formula. It really, really makes a difference.

Review of Norelco 6863XL Norelco Deluxe Reflex Plus Shaver

I have had several Norelco Shavers. I recently purchased the newest and most expensive model 9160 SmartTouch for $150. It wasn't as good as my old 6400 series, so I returned it. The newer shavers, 7000 series and higher, have heads with slots and round holes. The round holes are useless. All the series below 7000 have only slots in the heads, and you get a much better shave. Whatever series you decide on, buy the model in that series with the best charge life. Usually the higher the model # in each series, the better the battery and features are. I ended up with the 6863XL and I love it.

Product Description
Reflex Action, automatically adjusts to every curve on your face for flexible, smoother shaving. 5 LED battery charge meter displays charge level in batteries.

Review of Arcitec Rechargeable Cordless/Cord Razor

I've owned this Norelco shaver for one year. It does have a wonderful flexible head and will give a very close shave if used daily. I'm retired and shave approx 3 times per week. If growth is longer than 2 days you must augment with a non electric shaver in the shower. I am going to retire this unitand move on. The major problem is the design does not allow for a lot of beard to be retained in the head thus I end up with hair over my upper torso because of limted capacity. This inspite of washing after every use.

Product Description
INDICATIONS: Flex & pivot action. Triple-track shaving heads. Precision cutting system. Super lift & cut® technology. Precision tube trimmer. Washable. Corrosion free heads. Vibration free. Shaving unit: RQ 10. Pivoting shaving unit.

Review of Norelco Quadra Action Shaver - 7616X

I've owned this razor for over a year now, but only used it off and on until recently. While it has always shaved well, I have found it works best if you are a regular, every-day shaver. For quite a while, I wasn't, which meant that my face never fully conditioned to the shaver, and that I was more often than not trying to shave a thicker growth of beard. The first was not a big deal (I knew how to fix that), but the the latter proved to be a problem - this razor is NOT for people who don't shave every day. If you let your beard go for a couple days between shaves, you will more than likely need to take it down with the trimmer before shaving.

However...

I recently dug this razor out again and decided to give it another try. I have found that if I shave every day, the shaver performs very well indeed. It's still not as close as a blade, but let's face it, no electric razor is. This one is comfortable, efficient, easy to clean and worth the money (this based on my experience with much cheaper shavers in the past). I would suggest that people shave with a completely *dry* face - preferably even before you shower. Having a truly dry beard makes a difference. I haven't used a pre-shave, but shaving dry is getting me close enough that I'm not worried about it.

The trimmer is okay for basic side-burn straightening and so on, but I don't trust it to groom my mustache or beard - I use my beard trimmer for that. But as a razor for my face, I am very happy with this model. The only draw back is that it is hard to get a clean line along the edge of my beard with the round heads, but an occasional touch up with a regular razor handles that. It now takes me a lot less time to shave every morning, compared to using foam and a cartridge razor, which is worth it.

Review of Norelco 4822-690-30412 Cutter Assembly

Got this hoping to replace my 1000 model that I got in the late 90s.

Turns out it's not a perfect match. But it will still work. You just can't put a lot of pressure on it or it will fly apart.
